Globus Medical Announces Second Major Expansion of U.S. Sales Network

October 22, 2004 - Phoenixville, PA, USA  Globus Medical, Inc. announced today that L5 Surgical LLC has recently joined its growing ranks of exclusive independent distributors. L5 was formed by Dan Pontecorvo and Bob Antonelli, two veteran sales executives in orthopedic devices. L5’s territory will span from Baltimore through New Jersey, including eastern Pennsylvania. 

“The addition of L5 Surgical is our second major sales expansion in the last 30 days” commented David Paul, President of Globus Medical. “The continued enthusiasm shown by top distributors and successful sales agents to join the Globus team is gratifying and further validation of the Globus Medical business model.”

Both Pontecorvo and Antonelli were top performers in the Synthes Trauma and Spine divisions respectively, with over 40 years of combined experience in orthopedic device sales.

The privately held U.S.-based Globus Medical began selling through an independent sales network in 2003.

The company’s strategic plans include entering the rapidly growing non-fusion segments of the spine market with its proprietary products based on in-house design expertise and surgeon-driven philosophies.
